Mert Şıdım started his career as a computer hardware technician in 2002. After working for a short time as a computer hardware technician, he started working on computer software with his own start-up company.He worked as a software specialist and consultant in many software companies, advertising agencies and government institutions. He took part in the development and integration of many technology systems within the scope of smart city studies in Kadıköy Municipality. He worked in the field of media with his own company, which is his second start-up, and he worked in areas such as corporate web portals, commercials, music production, photography and video works. In 2012, he started to work with Prof. Dr. Tufan Adıgüzel at Bahçeşehir University Distance Education Unit and developed educational software, integrations and add-ons in the field of educational technology. He also established a production studio intended to be used for educational purposes in the Distance Education Unit of Bahçeşehir University, produced many educational videos, documentaries, animations, music, voiceovers and scenarios, and took part in national and international projects. He worked as a Front-End Developer in a cryptocurrency exchange. In 2020, he worked at StemXR A.Ş. as Chief Technology Officer and designed and developed a web portal aimed at publishing STEM-based content enriched with augmented reality and virtual reality. In parallel with his entire working life, he made music. He has performed live in many cities over the years. Although he can play many instruments, his main instrument is the electric guitar. Mert Şıdım joined Özyeğin University as the Learning and Instructional Technology Systems Administrator on February 1, 2022.
